Capturing photos of our kids

It's the end of the school year.  The obligatory school photograph has been ordered.  But honestly our kids never look great in them.  The staging of photos is not something that works well with either of our autistic boys and as they are growing I'm aware that if we are going to record their history in photographic evidence, we can't rely on posed shots at school or necessarily on holiday either.

Our captured shots from 2017

Photos including three children watching pengiuns, a boy jumping in red wellington boots, a girl painting in a hallway in the sunlight, a boy on a beach, and centered around a photo of a family walking in the mountains

As 2017 comes to a close, I've looked back through the moments captured on our instagram, picked my favourite photographs and written about what they mean to us.

#CapturetheKindness photo round-up

#CapturetheKindness 4 photos from the competition

It's been two months since my #capturethekindness photo competition finished.  This competition, in collaboration with The Clangers and their #clangersforkindness campaign, was about capturing those special moments of kindness and sharing them.  After the mess of Christmas and the New Year back to school chaos, I've had some time and gone back through all the photos to pick out some to share in a round up.  Here are just a few of my favourites.

#CapturetheKindness

#CapturetheKindness photo image

I'm delighted to be taking part in the #ClangersforKindness campaign and am giving away two adorable Clangers Rucksacks to the best image in my #CapturetheKindness competition.  A post in the run up to World Kindness Day.
