Burrowing bunny Easter cupcakes learning activity
There's always plenty of food involved in Easter. The kids love the Easter egg hunt in the garden and then there are the hundreds of hot cross buns consumed (one of Anthony's favourite snacks that are not available all year round). This year we're making super easy burrowing bunny cupcakes that will help with their spatial reasoning, motor skills development and include Oreos as a special treat.

Make your own StickMan Family with this kids motor-skills craft activity
Inspired by preparing for our latest autistic and neurotypical family visit to see Stick Man Live last week, Jane I set about making our own Stick Man Family by using up materials leftover from Christmas and delving into our craft box.

Sponge splat fireworks sensory paint activity
We can spend a lot of time in our house looking out the bedroom windows over fireworks weekend. Fireworks used to be a real worry for us but slowly, the boys have come to delight in the sparkles in the sky. We prepare for them coming and this sensory splat craft is a fun way to talk about it.

Autumn fruits motor-skills home made stencil painting activity
It's not yet properly cold and wet and if you look around you'll be able to spot some of the last fruits of the year. Jane says it's a beautiful time of the year with all the autumn colours too. Fruit picking is a great motor skill in itself. But if there aren't many to pick where you are or you just want to have some fun at home then this easy to make stamp painting activity is good for motor skills and learning about fruit at this time of the year.

A big jump forward with a back to front top
To the rest of the world, David has his top on backwards. But that's not what I see. This was the sight that greeted me as I came down the stairs to make lunch this last weekend. It made me grin and I picked up my boy and tickled him in congratulations.

Rock pool motor-skills learning activity
Anthony loves exploring the beach when it's quiet. Stomping around the rock pools is fun and we think about what we did by enjoying a fun rock pool craft activity too. Read this post >>

Camping with friends with mini sleeping bag craft
Many kids including those with autism like to know what's going to happen with something new. This could be a new place, new experience or even new people. Some of our kids friends are going camping for the holidays. Jane has even asked if maybe her friend can camp over. This would be a big thing and I'm not sure we are quite there yet. But we have been doing things recently to prepare the kids for a camping holiday and this easy motor-skills craft activity gets kids set for the idea of sleeping in a sleeping bag.

Wacky weather tree motor skills learning activity
We've had a rather wacky few weeks. And this had included the weather. We've had cloudy days, sunny days, wet days and even night time thunder storms. If this is causing conversation in your house like it is on ours, then turn it into a fun motor skills learning activity with a weather tree craft.

Motor skills and imagination development using stamp sets from Magic Fairy Wings
It's not uncommon for some kids to have delayed fine and gross motor skills. When you find things like doing up buttons, picking up objects and holding a pencil difficult this can have an impact on lots of other development areas. Both our autistic kids find it difficult to hold a pencil making things like writing and drawing hard.
