Has Toby Young been backed into a cave?

Politics. Half way through the last season of House of Cards, I said to my other half, “I just don’t think like this lot.” But who does really? I mean it’s all drama on the TV right?

I’m generally one for weighing information and thinking about things. Then finally saying my point. Isn’t that what most people do? Or not?  Take for example, Mr Toby Young.

Is it OK to 'choose' a child?

dna image

There is no doubt this is going to be an emotive subject.  If we could choose to rule out disabilities in our children, is that something we want to be able to do?

Not everyone chooses to have children. Some people are desperate and have difficulty, some like me get them first time round and some others have no plans for kids and get them anyway. But not many will have sat down and thought, I know, what I've always wanted in my life and what would make it complete would be if we could have an autistic child. Or a child who was blind, had Down's Syndrome or an extreme pain disorder?  What if you could choose not to have a disabled child?

It's not a good day to be a worrier.. and I'm a worrier

British flags, Big Ben BBC
BBC News - Brexit: What happens now?

I was shocked when I was woken by the news this morning. The UK has voted Leave.

Immediately my head started to spin.. what will this mean?  What will happen next. It's not a good day to be a worrier.. and I'm a worrier.

Dear Health Minister: Please, I don't want to lose my son

Our autistic son, David

Update: At the end of the summer 2016 The Guardian  has reported that families were struggling to find decent care after coming out of Winterbourne.  Looks like I've still got plenty to be afraid of .

Dear Sir,

I have this secret fear.  It sits way in the back of my mind and only comes out when I hear things that make me shake.... and then I think, please, I don't want to lose my son.
