Huge rise in SEND appeals is not a surprise

The latest statistics revealed this morning (14 December) by the Ministry of Justice show the number of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) appeals registered in the last academic year has risen by a huge 27% or over 1,000 cases to 4,725 appeals.  Sadly, I'm not surprised.

More free childcare in the future?

When Anthony was three years old he was entitled to 15 hours of free childcare each week.  Fantastic.  When David turned three years old, he should have been given the same amount.  But that's not what he got. He got seven.  David only got seven hours because he has autism. Looking back, I can't believe I let it happen.
